Here are my proposed next steps with Region I in the lead with support from NRR, Interim Operablity Information Inthis record w*9 deleted, 1 in . ',,;,ihthejreedom of hifamrtion 7 Act, exemptions .-

" NRR complete the TIA response (12/31/11)

" Region I apply the TIA results to the existing open operability determinations to identify inadequacies or gaps in information (1/20/12)

• If no gaps or inadequacies are identified conduct a public meeting. (2/12)

• If inadequacies or gaps are identified evaluate for additional regulatory action, 50.54f letter, CAL or a reactive inspection (initiate actions by 1/31/12),

• As part of or following additional regulatory action conduct a public meeting Long term Operability (current license period)

• Region I apply the TIA results to the licensee's comprehensive plan including testing to ensure operability through the end of the current licensing period (12/31/11.

• If inadequacies or gaps are identified address the problems within the inspection program commensurate with the period established above for interim operability.

All information from the above should be provided to DLR for consideration and assessment of the aging management program in parallel but subordinate to reviewing operability within the current licensing period. I will give you a call in the next few days to solicit your thoughts.
