s ENGINEERING VERIFICATION PROGRAM/SL-2 EBASCO TASK FORCE WEEKLY STATUS SKlMARY FOR PERIOD OCTOBER 4-OCTOBER 8,1982

l. Independent design packages for the following items were completed during the period:

a. HEPA Filter .for the ECCS Area Ventilation System (Verification Item 8)

b. Area Radiation Monitor GM-26-22 (Verification Item 5)

c. Tornado Missile Shield Door RA-109 (Verification Item 6)

Copies were transmitted/distributed to members of the Review Committee for review of packages for completeness, Items 8 and 5 via Federal Express on October 4, and Item 6 by hand on October 6.

Committee approval to release these existing designs for ETF comparison is anticipated by October 13.

2. A request for additional existing design documents for the Hydrogen Recombiner (Item 4) was made on October 4. A portion has been transmitted from the Project Team to the ETF and the balance is being assembled for transmittal.

3. Comparison of the independent and Hydrogen Recombiner.

Comparison of independent and existing designs for the Control Room Emergency Cleanup System Valve (Item 3) commenced following receipt of the first existing design documents from the Project Team. Receipt of the balance is expected early next period, including one additionally requested drawing.

5. A response was received re two requested, design input items per ETF letter EVP-306/SL-2 of September 2. This is related to preparation of the. independent design package for Verification Item 7,'ain Steam-Isolation Valve. The completed design package is now scheduled for transmittal to Review Committee members on October'l. for package completeness review.

6. A meeting of the FPL,C-E and Ebasco EVP Task Force Managers. was held October 6 in Juno Beach, Florida to review program progress.'.

~ On October 7, the Task Force Managers were at the,S't. Lucie jobsite t'o continu planning for the field installation verification phase of t: he program.

ENGINEERING VERIFICATION PROGRAM/SL-2 C-E TASK FORCE WEEKLY STATUS

SUMMARY

OCTOBER 4-OCTOBER 8,1982

1. Portions of the existing design package for the Safety Injection Tank Isolation Valve (C-E Verification Item 2) have been received from the C-E Project Team.

Comparison of the independent and existing designs has begun using a standard comparison form. Design comparison, planned for October 18 completion, is dependent on receipt of the balance of existing design information from the Ebasco Project Team by October 14.

2. The independent design package for the High Pressure Safety Injection Pump (C-E Verification Item 1) was completed and transmitted to Review Committee members on October 5. Release of the existing design package for is expected by October 11. 'omparison

3. , On-site verification arrangements were discussed during an October 7 meeting of the Task Force Managers at the St. Lucie 2 construction site.
