consumers Power company General Offices: 1945 West Parnall Road, Jackson, Ml 49201*(517)788-0550 September 16, 1983 Dennis M Crutchfield, Chief Operating Reactor Branch No 5 Nuclear Reactor Regulation US Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, DC 20555 DOCKET 50-255 - LICENSE DPR PALISADES PLANT - SUPPLEMENT 1 TO NUREG-0737, MILESTONE ACTIVITY COMMITMENT LIST The NRC Staff requested that Consumers Power Company revise the milestone activity list originally included in our submittal dated April 14, 1983 entitled "Response to Generic Letter 82-33, Supplement 1 to NUREG-0737." The request was made August 11, 1983 in a telephone conference call between NRC and Consumers Power Company representatives. The purpose of the revision is to highlight, for each initiative, the following milestone activities:

A. Identify when a majority of the initiative's front end work will be complete independent of downstream impact of other initiatives (i.e.

date at which a majority of the open items are identified).

B. Identify when Consumers Power Company can submit a schedule to close the initiative. This schedule is to include the downstream impact of other initiatives (to the extent possible).

The attached commitment list is sent in response to the Staff's request. This list supercedes Section 4 and the integrated summary schedule figure provided in the April 14, 1983 submittal.

It is Consumers Power Company's understanding that the NRC will issue a Confirmatory Order based on the commitments provided in the attached list.
