By letter dated March 15, 2022, Tennessee Valley Authority submitted a request for an alternative for Sequoyah Nuclear Plant, Units 1 and 2. The proposed alternative would allow operation for 1 cycle if certain pressure isolation valves undergo mechanical agitation as a means to achieve acceptable valve seat leakage. The purpose of this e-mail is to provide the results of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staffs acceptance review of this relief request. The acceptance review was performed to determine if there is sufficient technical information in scope and depth to allow the NRC staff to complete its detailed technical review.
