Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Connission Washington, D.C. 20555 Attention: Mr. Harold R. Denton

Dear Mr. Denton:

Please give sincere, careful, and serious attention to the request of Georgians Against Nuclear 2nergy, CFR 2.206, for a rehearing on the construction license for the Vogtle Nuclear Plant.

I live in Athens, Cecrgia. Cur city lies on a najor trans:crt route for nuclear naterials on route to 3arnwell 3.0. Tnus I an very conceri.ed about safety regarding the nuclear industry. Also because Georgia's other nuclear clant, Plant Hatch, has such a horrible operating and safety record, I fear other nuclear plants in our state. Alternatives to nuclear are available. 3esides, Geor51 a does not need another nuclear plant. GAX2's request points out this lach of need. Many in Athens support GA32's request for a careful reevaluation of the need for Plant Vogtle.

Sincerely,

% W~
