Media interactions THREE MILE ISLAND -- There was a another mini-tsunami of media interest in the Saturday contamination event. We heard from KYW Radio (in Philadelphia), the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Patriot-News (of Harrisburg, Pa.), the York (Pa.) Daily Record, WITF-FM (of Harrisburg), Reuters, Bloomberg News Service, WOBM-FM (of Ocean County, N.J.), NHK-TV (of Japan) and Power Market Daily. There were many questions on the extent of the contamination and the NRC's response.

NINE MILE POINT -- Constellation is announcing that it is requesting the NRC not resume its review of licensing for the proposed new reactor at the site. The company says the move will enable it to focus its resources on the Calvert Cliffs 3 new reactor project. It plans to preserve the option of pursuing the Nine Mile Point 3 project at a future date should that become feasible.

VERMONT YANKEE -- The Rutland (Vt.) Herald is asking about an Entergy request to withhold a document from public release due to proprietary information. We told the reporter such requests are not uncommon, but there must be sufficient justification before we approve them.
