In the Matter of Tennessee Valley Authority Docket Nos.50-259 50-260 50-296 BROWNS FERRY NUCLEAR PLANT (BFN)-REQUEST FOR TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION (TS)REVISION TS-292 SUPPLEMENT 1, FIRE PUMP SURVEILLANCE REQUIREMENTS On August 7, 1990, TVA submitted a request for an amendment to licenses DPR-33, DPR-52 and DPR-68 to change the BFN TSs for units 1, 2 and 3.The proposed amendment will revise the surveillance requirements for flow and head for the electric and diesel driven fire pump based on a calculation of actual water demand. Our previous submittal requested that the fire pump surveillance requirements be changed to require a flow of 2100 gpm at a system head of 300 feet.As a result of discussions with NRC personnel, we request that the fire pump surveillance requirements be changed to require a flow of 2250 gpm at a system head of 300 feet. This request provides an additional flow margin of 150 gpm.The Enclosure provides revised TS pages to reflect this supplemental request. The previously submitted proposed determination of no significant hazard considerations remains valid with the exception that the proposed TS fire pump surveillance requirements values are conservatively changed from 2100 gpm to 2250 gpm.901211014S 901130 PDR ADOCK 05000259 P-PDC 1 An Equal Opportunity Employer l~t ,joe'I U.S.Nuclear Regulatory Commission 86V 80~gg0 No commitments are contained in this submittal.
