PUBLIC SERVICE ELECTRIC AND GAS COMPANY SALEM GENERATING STATION CASE NO. 96-01-07-0049-18 SUPPLEMENTAL DISCHARGE CONFIRMATION REPORT In accordance.with the Discharge Confirmation Report submitted on February 6, 1996 (LR-E96019), Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G) is submitting this supplemental report on corrective measures to be*taken *to reduce the potential of future occurrences.
As discussed in the February 6 report, PSE&G inadvertently discharged approximately 115 gallons of sodium hypochlorite to the Delaware River. The cause of the incident was attributed to human error involving inattention to detail by Operations personnel.
