==Dear Mr. Heymer,== | |||
I am responding to your March 31, 2006, letter (ADAMS Accession Number ML061040491) toGary Holahan concerning the schedule for the development of DG-1145. I appreciate the compliments you have given my staff regarding the DG-1145 development approach implemented by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the first DG-1145 public workshop held on March 15, 2006. We believe that the strategy to develop DG-1145 is providing potentialcombined license (COL) applicants with needed information in a more timely and efficient manner. This effort is receiving significant management attention as evident by the number of NRC resources attached to this project.My staff has developed a tentative schedule for discussing specific sections of DG-1145 duringthe May, June, and July public workshops. This schedule is attached. Please note that the actual workshop agenda will be based on the sections that have been posted on the NRCwebsite as "draft work-in-progress."Your letter also discusses the update of NUREG-0800, Standard Review Plan for the Review ofSafety Analysis Reports for Nuclear Power Plants. We agree that the information contained in DG-1145 needs to be consistent with the Standard Review Plan. We are taking steps to facilitate a feedback process for both efforts. In addition, to facilitate earlier public input on thestandard review plan, the NRC plans to use the DG-1145 public workshops as an opportunityfor the staff to receive comments on any Standard Review Plan section. | |||

Dear Mr. Heymer,
I am responding to your March 31, 2006, letter (ADAMS Accession Number ML061040491) toGary Holahan concerning the schedule for the development of DG-1145. I appreciate the compliments you have given my staff regarding the DG-1145 development approach implemented by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the first DG-1145 public workshop held on March 15, 2006.
