Safety Parameter Display System Cooper Nuclear Station NRC Docket No. 50-298, DPR-46 This letter is to inform you and the appropriate NRC Staff that the District will be unable to submit the additional SPDS information on the date specified in Reference 1.       The additional information primarily deals with verification and validation testing which is currently in progress and will be available at a later date. Operator Training on the SPDS will soon be completed from which results of the man-in-the-loop test results will be obtained and a summary of the system reliability report is being put together. The item that will require the most time to complete is the performance of the 1,000 hour test and the compilation of its results. The start of this test is presently scheduled for January 15, 1985.
The District believes it can submit the remaining items of Reference 1 by May 1,1986 and will keep the staff informed of any changes should they appear likely to occur. Should you have any questions or require additional information, please contact me.
