Docket No. 50-482: Notification of Readiness for Supplemental Inspection 92722
Dear Mr. Morris,
Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation (WCNOC) received written notification of a Notice of Violation of 10 CFR 50.7, Employee protection, and Proposed Civil Penalty categorized as a Traditional Enforcement Severity Level II violation as described in Reference 1. As a result, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) will perform a supplemental inspection in accordance with NRC Inspection Procedure 92722, Follow up Inspection for any Severity Level I or II Tradiitonal Enforcement Violation or for Two or More Severity Level III Traditional Enforcement Violations in a 12 Month Period. Reference 2 requested written notice of station readiness for the inspection.
The purpose of this letter is to notify the NRC that WCNOC is ready for the NRC to assess the effectiveness of actions taken to address the Severity Level II Notice of Violation and Proposed Imposition of Civil Penalty. WCNOC conducted a mock inspection for the 92722 Inspection Procedure the week of April 27, 2020, and had subsequent reviews by industry experts.
