Subject:

Quad Cities Nuclear Power Station, Units 1 and 2 - Acceptance of Alternative RV-10 related to Code Case OMN-26, MOV Testing (EPID: L-2022-LLR-0019),

dated March 9, 2022 (ML22068A151)

On February 17, 2022, Constellation Energy Generation, LLC (CEG) submitted a request for approval of seven proposed relief requests associated with the Sixth 10-Year Inservice Testing (IST) Program Interval for Quad Cities Nuclear Power Station (QCNPS). Relief Request RV-10, "Adopt ASME OM Code Case OMN-26, 'Alternative Risk-Informed and Margin Based Rules for Inservice Testing of Motor Operated Valves'," was included in Reference 1. The March 3, 2022, publication of the Federal Register contained the final rule updating the list of approved OM Code Cases. Effective April 4, 2022, Code Case OMN-26, referenced as the basis for relief request RV-10, is an approved OM Code Case. As a result, CEG has decided to withdraw the proposed relief request and is no longer seeking NRC review and approval of RV-10, which had been accepted for review on March 9, 2022 (Reference 2).

This withdrawal applies only to relief request RV-10. CEG requests that the NRC continue to review of the remaining six relief requests included in Reference 1.
