Letter from Nuclear Regulatory Commission dated August 16, 2013, "Assessment Follow-up Letter for LaSalle County Station, Unit 2" In the referenced letter, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) notified Exelon Generation Company, LLC (EGC) that LaSalle County Station, Unit 2, had been placed in the Regulatory Response Column of the NRC's Reactor Oversight Process (ROP) Action Matrix due to having one White initiating events Performance Indicator (PI). The NRC's review of LaSalle County Station, Unit 2, identified that the PI for Unplanned Scrams with Complications crossed the Green-to-White performance threshold of one occurrence. The referenced letter stated that the NRC planned to conduct a supplemental inspection in accordance with Inspection Procedure (IP) 95001, "Supplemental Inspection for One or Two White Inputs in a Strategic Performance Area."
The purpose of this letter is to inform the NRC that EGC is ready for the NRC to conduct the IP 95001 supplemental inspection. Based on discussions with NRC staff, EGC requests the NRC commence the inspection on January 13, 2014.
