Robbins joined the NRC as a reactor engineer in Region III in 2004. Before joining the NRC he served aboard the aircraft carrier USS John F. Kennedy.

He received a bachelors of science degree in electrical engineering from Clemson University.

John Robbins is an excellent inspector with a firm commitment to safety. He will help the NRC fulfill its mission of protecting people and the environment by helping ensure the Byron plant operates at the high standards set by the NRC, Region III Administrator Mark Satorius said.

Each U.S. commercial nuclear plant site has at least two NRC resident inspectors. They serve as the agencys eyes and ears at the facility, conducting inspections, monitoring major work projects and interacting with plant workers and the public. Robbins joins Senior Resident Inspector Bruce Bartlett at the facility. Both inspectors can be reached at (815)234-5451.
