Roger Hannah, 404-997-4417 NRC Announces New Resident Inspector at Farley Nuclear Power Plant Nuclear Regulatory Commission officials in Atlanta have selected Sarah Temple as the resident inspector at Southern Nuclear Operating Co.s Farley nuclear power plant, located near Columbia, Ala., about 20 miles east of Dothan.
Sarah Temple is a native of Birmingham, Ala., and began her NRC career in 2010 as a civil engineer in the Division of Construction Inspection in the NRC Region II Office in Atlanta. From 2014 until her new assignment at the Farley plant, she served as a resident inspector for construction at Vogtle 3 and 4, the two units under construction near Waynesboro, Ga.
Temple received her Bachelor of Civil Engineering from Auburn University in Auburn, Ala., in 2010. Temple joins Senior Resident Inspector Pete Meier at the Farley site.
Each operating U.S. commercial nuclear power plant site has at least two NRC resident inspectors. They serve as the agencys eyes and ears at the facility, conducting regular inspections, monitoring significant work projects, and interacting with plant workers and the public. Inspectors can serve for up to seven years at any one site.
