SUBJECT:
NOTIFICATION OF UNUSUAL EVENT AT PRAIRIE ISLAND DESCRIPTION:
On October 31, 2012, the licensee declared an Unusual Event at 2:18 p.m. based upon a security condition at the site. Compensatory measures were put in place. There was no release of radioactive materials and no hostile activity at the site. The licensee exited the Unusual Event at 5:54 p.m.
The resident inspectors were on site and monitored plant activities. Additionally, regional specialists followed plant activities and assisted the resident inspectors.
The information in this preliminary notification has been reviewed with licensee management.
