- REGION II RESPONSE TO TROPICAL STORM ALBERTO At 11:00 a.m., (EDT) today, a hurricane warning was issued for the Florida Gulf Coast region including the Crystal River Unit 3 site area. The licensee declared an Unusual Event at 11:00 a.m., in response to the hurricane warning. The unit is currently at full power. NRC resident inspectors are at the nuclear plant site.
The state of Florida has been notified.
