On November 25, 2024, the NRC notified Susquehanna Nuclear, LLC, (Susquehanna) of an escalated enforcement action, EA-24-111, associated with a preliminary White finding and apparent violation related to the April 08, 2024, failure of the Susquehanna Steam Electric Station 'B' Emergency Diesel Generator [Reference 1]. On December 04, 2024, Susquehanna notified the NRC of the decision not to contest the violation or significance of the violation
[Reference 2]. On January 27, 2025, the NRC provided a final significance determination of a White finding and Notice of Violation [Reference 3].
In Reference 3, the NRC stated plans to conduct a supplemental inspection for this finding in accordance with Inspection Procedure 95001, "Supplemental Inspection Response to Action Matrix Column 2 (Regulatory Response) inputs," following Susquehanna's notification of the readiness for this inspection.
This letter serves as notification to the NRC that Susquehanna is prepared for the 95001 supplemental inspection. Based on resource availability, Susquehanna requests the 95001 supplemental inspection be scheduled for the week of May 12, 2025.
This letter contains no new or revised regulatory commitments.
