ITAAC Closure Notification on Completion of ITAAC 2.5.02.05a (Index Number 5271 Ladies and Gentlemen:

In accordance with 1 O CFR 52.99(c)(1 ), the purpose of this letter is to notify the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) of the completion of Vogtle Electric Generating Plant (VEGP) Unit 3 Inspections, Tests, Analyses, and Acceptance Criteria (ITAAC) Item 2.5.02.05a (Index Number 5271. This ITAAC confirms that the PMS Cabinets, Reactor Trip Switchgear, Main Control Room (MCR)/Remote Shutdown Workstation (RSW) Transfer Panels, MCR Safety-related Displays, and MCR Safety-related Controls are powered from their respective Class 1 E division_ The closure process for this ITAAC is based on the guidance described in NEI 08-01, "Industry Guideline for the ITAAC Closure Process under 1 O CFR Part 52," which was endorsed by the NRC in Regulatory Guide 1.215.

This letter contains no new NRC regulatory commitments. Southern Nuclear Operating Company (SNC) requests NRC staff confirmation of this determination and publication of the required notice in the Federal Register per 10 CFR 52.99.

Inspections/Tests/ Analyses Tests will be performed by providing a simulated test signal in each Class 1 E division.

Acceptance Criteria A simulated test signal exists at the Class 1 E equipment identified in Table 2.5.2-1 when the assigned Class 1 E division is provided the test signal.

ITAAC Determination Basis Testing is performed on the Class 1 E equipment identified in the VEGP Unit 3 COL Appendix C Table 2.5.2-1 (Attachment A) to demonstrate the equipment is powered from its respective Class 1 E division. This ITAAC performs testing on the equipment in Attachment A by providing a simulated test signal in each Class 1 E division.

Unit 3 Reports SV3-PMS-ITR-800527-1 and SV3-PMS-ITR-800527-2 (References 1 and 2) document completion of power verification activities for the equipment identified in Attachment A. References 1 and 2 first verified that power supply cables/wiring were installed and terminated from the applicable Class 1 E division distribution panel power supply to the equipment identified in Attachment A using approved construction drawings and cable/wiring termination documentation. References 1 and 2 then confirmed, via cable/wiring termination inspection documentation, that continuity testing was performed on each of the installed cables/wiring to confirm current flow within the installed cable/wiring. The combination of cable/wiring installation and termination verification, with the installed cable/wiring continuity testing, confirm that the equipment identified in Appendix A is powered from its respective Class 1 E division.

The Unit 3 Reports (References 1 and 2) confirm that a simulated test signal exists at the Class 1 E equipment identified in Table 2.5.2-1 when the assigned Class 1 E division is provided the test signal.

References 1 and 2 are available for NRC inspection as part of Unit 3 ITAAC Completion Packages (Reference 3).

ITAAC Finding Review In accordance with plant procedures for ITAAC completion, Southern Nuclear Operating Company (SNC) performed a review of all findings pertaining to the subject ITAAC and associated corrective actions. This review found there are no relevant ITAAC findings associated with this ITAAC.

U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission ND-22-0166 Enclosure Page 3 of 4 IT AAC Completion Statement Based on the above information, SNC hereby notifies the NRC that ITAAC 2.5.02.05a was performed for VEGP Unit 3 and that the prescribed acceptance criteria were met.

Systems, structures, and components verified as part of this ITAAC are being maintained in their as-designed, ITAAC compliant condition in accordance with approved plant programs and procedures.
