Dave Gasperson, 404-997-4417 NRC Names New Senior Resident Inspector at Farley Nuclear Plant The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has selected Sarah Temple as its new senior resident inspector at the Joseph M. Farley nuclear power plant near Dothan, Alabama. The plant is operated by Southern Nuclear Operating Co.

Temple joined the NRC in 2010 as a civil engineer in the Division of Construction Inspection in the Region II office in Atlanta. She began her career focusing on new plant construction and was part of the first group of NRC resident inspectors during the early stages of construction at Vogtle units 3 and 4. In 2020, Temple was selected as the resident inspector at the Farley nuclear plant. She holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Auburn University.

Sarah is a highly respected and experienced inspector who consistently demonstrates strong technical expertise and leadership skills, said NRC Region II Administrator Laura Dudes. Her work with the agency has been invaluable and I am confident that her leadership as senior resident inspector will ensure the plant continues to meet the NRCs safety standards.

Each U.S. commercial nuclear power plant has at least two NRC resident inspectors who monitor day-to-day operations at the plant. They serve as the agency's eyes and ears at the facility, conducting inspections, monitoring significant projects, and interacting with plant workers and the public.
