COVID-19 Public Health Emergency NRC staff returned to the office on November 8, 2021

- Majority of staff telework three days per week

- Majority of large conference rooms upgraded to accommodate virtual interactions

- Can accommodate in-person meetings

- NRC makes adjustments based on local infection levels

Some of the completed actions this past year

  • Missouri University of Science and Technology license amendment for changes to the administrative controls
  • AFRRI License Amendment for DI&C Upgrade
  • GE Hitachi License Amendment for Land Sale
  • NIST License Amendment for fuel latch Tech Spec change
  • Oregon State license amendment for instrumented fuel element
  • Penn State license amendment for possession limit increase

Some of the ongoing projects Univ of Calif Davis, Univ Texas, NC State, and GE License Renewals NIST restart request to support the decision authorize the restart SHINE operating license review NC State license for fueled experiments Non-power reactor lead on Kairos Hermes and Abilene Christian Univ construction permit applications

We make the safe use of nuclear technology possible DANU is committed to continually improving to achieve this goal:

- Risk informed decisions

- New and improved processes

- Metrics to benchmark progress

- Enhanced tools to track projects

Commitment to TRTR and Current Challenges
