GEH BWRX-300 LTR NEDC-33922P, Containment Evaluation Method, Final Approved RAI Letter 16 Proprietary and Public Versions Lisa, By letter dated September 25, 2020, GE-Hitachi Nuclear Energy Americas, LLC (GEH) submitted License Topical Report (LTR) NEDC-33922P, BWRX-300 Containment Evaluation Method (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML20269A469), to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff for its BWRX-300 small module reactor (SMR) Pre-Application key licensing topics review.
The NRC staff has identified that additional information is needed to continue the review and the request for additional information (RAI)¹ is attached.
During the July 29, 2021 draft RAI discussion for clarity, understanding and response schedule, you confirmed that the RAI redaction for GEH proprietary information was correct and is also documented in your email (Wednesday, August 4, 2021 10:35 AM (ML21216A306 - Non-Public Proprietary)).
Also discussed during the July 29, 2021 and as outlined in the NRC staff updated July 9, 2021 Revised Review Schedule letter (ADAMS Accession No. ML21188A226), the expected response for these questions, September 17, 2021, is based on RAIs with a 45-day GEH response time, unless you request additional time. The response time for these specific RAIs starts upon final RAI receipt (45 Calendar days from August 5, 2021), this response time allowed for additional time from review of the draft RAIs starting on July 22, 2021, due to the time needed for additional analysis.
The Proprietary Version of the final RAI is PSWD protected. I will send that PSWD in a subsequent email.
