June 18, 2021 Director, Division of Fuel Management Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards ATTN: Document Control Desk U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission 11545 Rockville Pike Rockville, MD 20852-2738 Request for Renewal of Certificate of Compliance Number 9979 - Docket 17-9979 Savannah River National Laboratory (Savannah River Nuclear Solutions) is requesting the renewal of U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Certificate of Compliance (CoC) Number 9979, for the Model 9979 Type A Fissile radioactive material shipping package. The current certificate, Revision 1, expires August 31, 2021, and SRNL has a continued programmatic need for this package. There have been no changes to the package since the CoC was issued in 2016.
