OPERATIONS SlNMARY OCTOBER, 1986 The unit entered October at 100% Reactor power producing approximately 830 MWe gross electrical generation. The unit operated at 100% power throughout the month with power decaying to approximately 95% the last few days of October due to insufficient core reactivity (fuel depletion).
On October 31,1986 at 2000 hours0.0231 days
0.556 hours
0.00331 weeks
7.61e-4 months
plant shutdown commenced with the reactor at hot shutdown conditions at 2300 hours0.0266 days
0.639 hours
0.0038 weeks
8.7515e-4 months
. As of the close of this reporting period, the plant was proceeding to a cold shutdown condition for Cycle 6 Refueling Outage.
MAJOR SAFETY RELATED MAINTENANCE During the month of October, TMI-l performed the following major maintenance:
Motor Driven Fire Puma CS-P Fire service pump FS-P-2 was removed from service due to high s1af t vibration. The pump was disassembled and internal components inspected. The upper shaf t was repaired by spray welding and the impellers and impeller shaft was balanced.
The pump was reassembled,
!nstalled, and balanced in place.
Post maintenance testing was satisfactory and the pump was returned to service.
