INSTRUCTIONS TO STUDENTS ACCEPTANCE: This is to advise you that_those individuals in Enclosure 1 have been 8

accepted for participation in the training course (H 314), " Safety Aspects of Well Lo0ging."

This course is scheduled _to be presented November 3 7,1997, at Schlumberger Technology Corporation's training facility, Sugar Land, Texas, a Houston suburb.

COURSE:

The course starts at 8:00 a.m. each morning beginning on Monday, November 3,1997. The daily sessions will end at approximately 5:00 p.m. each day except that the course will end at noon on Friday, November 7,1997.

LODGING:

Texas _has niade arrangements with the Hawthorne Suites Hotel,6910 Southwest Freaway, Houston, Texas 77074,(713)785 3415, extension 6006 (reservations). Please mention you are with the NRC Safety Aspects of Well-Logging course when you make your reservation. The rate is $70.00 per night for State or Federal staff. If anyone has tax exempt status, present the form at registration. The hotel is-holding a block of rooms and your reservation should be made three weeks in advance of arrival Please register as soon-as possible as the hotel will release the rooms at the three week point.

s The Hawthorne Suites is the designated meeting place for rides to Schlumberger's training facility and for bus departure on the field trip Tuesday, November 4. Please meet in the lobby of the hotel by 7:30 a.m. to coordinate rides with NF'O attendees. If you have any questions on getting rides to the class, please contact Marilyn Kelso through the hotel operator.

Alternative lodging arrangements may be made by the students. However, each student should remember that rides to the class leave from the Hawthorne Suites. For alternative lodging in the area, please contact Marilyn Kelso, Texas Bureau of Radiation Control at (512) 834-6688.
