Dear Mr. Shaufelberger:
This refers to the meeting between Mr. H. Parris of your staff, and me, and Messrs. P. S. Check, R. L. Bangart, and E. H. Johnson of my staff in the RIV offices on June 17, 1986.
At this meeting Mr. Parris described to us his duties and responsibilities as i
your special assistant for nuclear matters.
We also discussed the current status of the Cooper Nuclear Station and some of the recent organizational changes in your corporate office.
We found this meeting beneficial as it provided us with a better understanding of your plans for using Mr. Parris's experience and expertise for improving executive oversight of your nuclear activities.
In accordance with Section 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," Part 2, Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter will be placed in the NRC's Public Document Poon.
