As you know, the ACMUI advises the Commission on the development of standards ar.d criteria for regulating the uses of radioactive byproduct materials for human use. The ACMUI provides a valuable source of information to the Commission and staff on key policy issues associated with this program. The Commission offers this appointment based on the understanding that you will not work on any ACMUI matters that are determined to conflict with your outside activities indicated on your Statement of Employment and Financial Interests form.

Although we will make an effort to minimize our demands on your time, we recognize that service on the Committee will entail sacrifices. We appreciate your willingness to give your time and energy to an effort that is so important to further progress in the NRC's medical use regulatory program.
