Advance Notification ofIrradiated Peactor Fuel Shipments from the University of Missouri-Rolla Research Reactor to DOE Savannah River Site.
Enclosed, please find advance notification of shipment for the University of Missouri-Rolla (UMR)
Reactor irradiated reactor fuel (spent fuel) pursuant to the requirements of 10CFR73.72. Also, enclosed is the detailed routing schedule.
The enclosed information shall be treated as SAFEGUARDS INFORMATION anc'.o person shall have access to the safeguards information unless the person has an established "need to know" basis.
The UMR reactor irradiated fuel will be transported in three (3) separate shipments. The fuel to be shipped falls into the moderate strategically significant class of special nuclear material. The quantities to be shipped are NOT Highway Route Controlled and are exempt from the requirement of physical protection ofirradiated reactor fuel in transit (10CFR73.37).
