Docket No. 50-219 Facility Operating License No. DPR-16 Response to Generic Letter 96-01: Testing of Safety-Related Logic Circuits in accordance with the initial response requirements of NRC Generic Letter (GL) 96-01,
" Testing of Safety-Related Logic Circuits", dated January 10, 1996, the following information is provided:
GPU Nuclear will review and compare OCNGS clectrical schematic drawings and logic diagrams for those portions of the reactor protection system, emergency diesel generator load shedding and sequencing, and actuation logic for engineered safety features systems required for design basis accident mitigation against the OCNGS Technical Specification surveillance procedures. The purpose of this review is to ensure that all applicable portions of the logic circuitry are adequately covered in the surveillance procedures to fulfill Technical Specification requirements. Surveillance procedure inadequacies identified as part of this review, if any, will be addressed as necessary by surveillance procedure revision or request for technical specification amendment where justified.

The above actions will be completed prior to startup from the 17R outage which is the first refueling outage commencing one year after the issuance of GL E01. GPU Nuclear will confirm completion of these actions at that time. This schedule is consistent with the Generic Letter 96 01 request. If any additional information is needed, please contact Mr.
