s If Bulletin 83-07 "Apparently Frauduler.. Products Sold by Ray Miller, Inc."

Duquesne Light Company's (DLC) NSSS Vendor, Westinghouse (W), a nd DLC 's A/ E,

Stone & Webster Engineering Corporation (SWEC), have canpleted their reviews of the product s supplied by Ray Miller.

The results of these reviews ind i-cate that two suppliers have received material from Ray Miller, Inc.

First, Pittsburgh-Des Moines Steel received blind flanges thich were used in the cont ainme nt building lightning rod s.

DLC has determined that the blind flange material is a dif ferent material than the fraudulent material supplied by Ray Miller, Inc.

Second, Joseph Oat Corporation received one section of 12" Schedule 40S, 304 stainless steel pipe, 3'-4" long.

Ray Mille r,

Inc., had received this material from Swepco Tube Co rp. and directly passed on the Swepco material cert ification to Joseph Oat Corporation.

Joseph Oat Corporation was not included in the NRC-identified list of appar-ently fraudulent materials. The supplied material was eventually used in the recirculating spray coolers.

Because the material certification is from the original supplier (Swepco) and not Ray Miller, Inc., this material is co n-l sidered to be accurately certified.

Based on the ab ov e, BVPS-2 believes that no additional action needs to be taken in reference to this bulletin.
