Dear Mr. Keppler:

This is to advise you of the status of our commitments made to you in our April 15, 1983 letter (SVP-0084-83) relative to the suspension of electrical work outlined in your Confirmatory Action Letter of February 3, 1983.

ITEM I Commitment - It will be verified that only Category I material supplied '

by CLJV has been crected in the hangers installed to date.

The above activity through disposition of any NCRs generated is anticipated to be completed within 60 calendar days after restart.

Status - CLJV NCRs 392 and 1604 were initiated and dispositioned to accept material supplied by CLJV based upon approved purchase order and inspection documentation verifying that only good heat numbers were received and installed by CLJV.

Based on the above, this commitment has been met.

ITEM II Commitment - The final inspection of the 1288 hangers installed to date is in various stages of completion.

It is anticipated that the remainder of these inspections can be completed within 60 calendar days after restart.

Status - The actions required to review the 1288 EITs and perform the required inspections to bring,the QC inspection status current with Construction status was completed July 18, 1983.

Based on the above, this commitment has been met.

f fEL 2B PUBUC SERVICE INDIANA Mr. James G. Keppler July 27, 1983 ITEM III Commitment - The approximate 500 NCRs existing against hangers installed to date are in the process of being reviewed for adequate description and appropriateness of disposition descriptions.

It is anticipated that the remainder of this effort as well as the implementation and verification will be completed within 90 days after restart.

Status - Five hundred NCRs have been implemented with dispositions verified by Quality Control. During this process, 56 additional NCRs were identified, dispositioned and implemented.

Based on the above, this commitment has been met.

ITEM IV Commitment - In the future, the time between installation of a banger and final inspection will be within 10 working days with any exceptions duly justified.

Status - This is part of an ongoing surveillance program by CLJV and PSI.

PSI has performed a surveillance of this activity which con-firmed CLJV's compliance with this activity.

ITEM V Commitment - PSI will assure that the backlog of inspections and NCR dispositions are kept within reasonable and manageable bounds.

Status - This is part of an ongoing surveillance program by CLJV i

and PSI.

ITEM VI Commitment - All CLJV material remaining within the power block will be verified and appropriately stamped prior to the resumption of cable tray hanger installation.

Status - The actions described above have been performed and were verified by PSI surveillance prior to releasing CLJV to resume work via Work Release Justification 014.

Based on the above, this commitment has been met.

INDIANA Mr. James C. Keppler July 27, 1983 l ITEM VII Commitment - PSI will verify through its surveillance program that CLJV crafts are trained before performing activities under the CLJV procedures.

Status - The actions described above have been performed and were verified by PSI surveillance prior to releasing CLJV to resume work on all activities referenced in your Confirmatory Action Letter. This is part of an ongoing surveillance pro-gram by CLJV and PSI.

Based on the above, this commitment has been met.

I believe that the status outlined above is consistent with our commitments of April 15, 1983. We will continue to monitor those items which are ongoing to our present program.
