controlled area as described in NRC correspondence dated January 31, 1991.

Validity of the AssertioD The assertion is valid as stated.

Cause of this Event Investigation of this allegation concluded that,-on the shift the event

occurred, an individual was engaged in testing security alarms and forgot to frisk when leaving the Refueling Water Storage Tank (RWST) controlled area.

When questioned, the individual stated that

-he understood the requirement for frisking when leaving that area and that ho did frisk at another location a short timo later.

gorrective Actions to Prevent Recurrence This incident was reported to the individual's supervision who counselled; him about the event the next day following the event.

His supervisor stressed -the importance of following radiological control rules and the potential effects-of not frisking as required.

Additional follow-up-. included shift briefings to ensure that other appropriate personnel who perform similar tasks were aware of frisking proceduros.

Ebether a Deficiency Exists in the PpIsonal Radiation Procram The radiation programs-for personnel are not considered deficient for the following reasons:

The individual stated that he was aware of the requirements.

Frisking instructions are posted at the RWST door location.

It-should be noted that the RWST area is a non-contaminated area and the frisking requirement is a precautionary measure.
