O lHsconsm Elecinc era cower 231 W. MICHIGAN, P.O. BOX 2046, MILWAUKEE, WI 53201 September 29, 1982 Mr. H. R. Denton, Director Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation U. S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION Washington, D. C.

20555 Attention:

Mr. R. A. Clark, Chief Operating Reactors, Branch 3 Gentlemen:

DOCKET NOS. 50-266 AND 50-301 RESCHEDULE OF ERROR ANALYSIS REACTOR VESSEL WATER LEVEL INSTRUMENTATION SYSTEM POINT BEACH NUCLEAR PLANT, UNITS 1 AND 2 In your letter of June 19, 1982 you requested additional information on the proposed Reactor Vessel Water Level Instrumentation System for the Point Beach Nuclear Plant, Units 1 and 2.

Portions of questions 3, 7, 12, and 18 of that letter requested analyses of system accuracy during and after accident conditions.

In our reply letter to you of July 28, 1982, which addressed your other questions, it was stated that an error analysis would be available on or prior to September 30, 1982.

Because of the heavy work load associated with bnplementation of the TMI backfit modifications coupled with the necessity of installing major portions of these modifications during the upcoming Unit 1 refueling outage it was not possible to maintnin the error analysis schedule.

Another contributing factor is that the data from the environmental qualification testing program for the transmitters are not yet available to the detail necessary for the error analysis.

It is expected that the work effort on the error analysis will resume after the Unit 1 refueling outage and the error analysis will be available on or prior to January 15, 1983.

Please contact us if you have any questions regarding this schedule.

Very truly yo s
