Dear Mr. O'Reilly:
Carolina Power & Light Company informed Region II by telephone and follow-up correspondence (Serial No. BSEP/82-932) in April 1982 of an identified 10CFR21 deficiency; "A review of the Reactor Building environmental report... determined that a postulated pipe crack in the HPCI, RCIC, RWCU, and main steam line drains 4
could result in a limiting environment for the Reactor Buildings of both units."
In that 10CFR21 report, CP&L committed to submit a supplemental response providing a schedule for determining the corrective action required and the installation of any required modifications. United Engineers & Contructors is currently completing its evaluation of the Reactor Building Environmental Report and developing required corrective actions. A listing of any required-modifications and a schedule for implementation will be provided no later than March 31, 1983.
Very truly yours, vYW C. R. Dietz, General Manager g runswick Steam Electric Plant RMP/mcg/LETCG1 cc:
