IMPLEMENTATION OF TRAINING RULE'(10 CFR 50.120)

By letter _ dated July 28, 1993, you responded to our letter of June 25, 1993, l

with information on the status-of Dresden I with respect to the. training rule l

requirements of 10 CFR 50.120.

In your letter, ~you stated that all nine a

categories of nuclear power plant personnel conducting activities at Dresden 1 perform similar functions at Dresden 2 and 3 as members of the existing

~Dresden 2 and 3 staff. The submittal also stated that these individuals.

receive on-going training, based on a systems approach to training and that the training provides the necessary skills and knowledge to effect the Dresden I required tasks. Additionally, you stated that the required tasks..

are: periodically reviewed and updated as needed to ensure that activities associated with Dresden 1 are performed in a safe manner.

Therefore, since all nine categories of training for. tasks at Dresden 1 are addressed in.the Dresden 2 and 3 training program and since the Dresden 2 and 3 programs must meet the requirements of 10 CFR 50.120, we agree that an exemption is not needed.
