OPERATIONAL 1SUNMARY AUOUST 1990 UNIT 1 Unit i generated'820,140 megawatthours (MWh)~(gross) electrical power during Auguot, with'a capacity factor of 93.18' percent. ,a Unit'l power ^1evel had been reduced to 98 percent ~on July 30.11990, at h '1259 Eastern daylight; time- (EDT), tot reduce No. 3 heater drain tank -ysmp (HDTP) flow to increase delta P. Further power reduction was initiated on August 5,-1990, at 0942 EDT.'for, investigation of No. 3 HDTP Discharge Valves 1-LCV-6-106A and 106B. Atf 2007 EDT on August 5,1954, the power level. reached. i approximately 65 percent ~.. Disassembly and inspection.of the valves' revealed O that Valve 106B had a stem / plug separation. _ Valve _106A had not. experienced a. f ailure,- but both vals ss were; replaced -with spare valves to expedite Unit 1 i power ascension. Reactor power level increase was initiated on August 7, 1990, at 1618 EDT. Unit 1 was-again at1100 percent reactor power level on-August 8, 1990, at.1700 EDT; Unit 1 was.operatingaat approximately 99_ percent _ power level at the end of August. 1 a -UNIT'2-Unit 2 generated 686,650 MWh (gross) electrical-power during-August 1.990, with 1 1s capacity factor of 78.01. percent. Lait:2 entered coastdown to Unit 2 1 Cycle 4 refueling outage at 0736 EDT on July 21, 1990, zod continued'coastdown throughout August.
