's MONTHLY NARRATIVE REPORT OF OPERATING Ahv MAJOR MAINTENANCE EXPERIENCE This report describes the operating and major maintenance experience for the month of April, 1982. This narrative report was prepared by the plant staff and is submitted in accordance with Section 6.9.1.10 of the plant Technical Specifications.

Reassembly of Safety Injection pumps 1-1 and 1-2 was completed during April.

The pumps were inspected and realigned after the impeller locknut on pump 1-1 came loose and allowed the 6th stage impeller to move and gall the wear rings. Loktite was applied to tee locknuts as recommended by the manufacturer.

Perfomance test results show satisfactory pump perfomance.

There was no significant operating experience to report.

No challenges to the PORV's or safety valves have been made.

Furthermore, no changes have been made in the Offsite Dose Calculation Procedure, the Environmental Radiological Monitoring Procedure, or any radioactive waste treatment systems.
