t INTERIM REPORT - DER 82-14 POTENTIAL REPORTABLE DEFICIENCY-ARIZONA PUBLIC SERVICE COMPANY (APS)
PVNCS UNITS 1 AND 2 I.
Potential Problem A Field Engineering review of the installation documents for compliance with ASME III NF requirements revealed that some of the bolting material used throughout Units 1 and 2 instru-ment installations is indeterminate.
Th'e bolting material was procured to NA-3766.6 e
(1) and (4), but issuance to field use was not controlled in accordance with NA-3766.3(b).
e Code Case 1644-7 allows use of ASTM A-307, Grade A, bolts; however, once the bolt is withdrawn from the marked box, it loses its traceability to the C of C because each indi-vidual bolt is not marked by the supplier.
II.
Approach To and Status Of Proposed Resolution This condition is being evaluated by Bechtel-Engineering and Construction.
Currently, only bolting material which has a die mark, identifying it as being provided by an authorized Code supplier, is being installed.
III. Projected Completion of Corrective Action and Submittal of the Final Report Evaluation of this condition and submittal of the Final Report is forecast to be completed by July 7, 1982.
