We responded in Reference 2 with a commitment to provide the additional items requested in the next revision to the Midland Security Program volume. Amendment 101 to the Midland application was forwarded to the NRC on January 15, 1982 with the l

correspondence of Reference 3 and contained revisions to the Midland Security Program volume which provided the additional items requested by the NRC in the correspondence of October 5, 1981.

To supplement our correspondence of Reference 2, we are forwarding Enclosures 1 and 2 which provide a detailed response to each item and request contained in the enclosures to the NRC's correspondence of Reference 1.

It is hoped that the enclosed detailed responses will assist the NRC's review of the recently revised Midland Security Program volume to pinpoint the nature and location of the changes which were made.

2 In addition, Enclosure 3 describes some further design changes that will be made to the Midland security system as a result of discussions with the NRC's SER reviewer during a site visit on September 14-16, 1981.

With the exception of Item 4, these design changes are reflected in Revision 4 of the Midland Security Plan.

Since the three enclosed documents contain safeguards information within the

meaning of 10 CFR 73.21(b), we are requesting that the enclosed information be withheld from public disclosure pursuant to 10 CFR 73.21(c)(1) and(c)(2).
