This refers to the routine safety inspection conducted by Dr. L. W. Shatterly of this office on December 15 and 16, 1981, of activities at Beckman Instru-ment, Inc. authorized by NRC Byproduct Material Licenses No. 12-15201-02 and No. 12-15201-03G and to the discussion of our findings with Mr. Paul E. Monaghan and selected members of his staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
The inspection was an examination of activities conducted under your license as they relate to radiation safety.and to compliance with the Commission's rules and regulations and with the conditions of your license..The inspection con-sisted of a selective examination of procedures and' representative records, observations, independent measurements, and-interviews with personnel.
No items of noncompliance with NRC requirements were identified during the course of this inspection.
This inspection also included a review of your October 19, 1981 closeout survey involving your former Lincolnwood, Illinois facility. No residual contamination was identified in excess of the limits specified in the NRC draft document " Guidelines for Decontamination of Facilities and Equipment Prior to Release for Unrestriced Use or Termination of Licenses for Byproduct, Source, or Special Nuclear Material." Consequently, this office has no objection to your release of facilities at 7360 North Lincoln Avenue, Lincolnwood, Illinois, for unrestricted use.
