In accordance with the provisions of Reference (1), an application to amend Provisional Operating License No. DPR-45 for the La Crosse Boiling Water Reactor is hereby filed with three (3) signed original applications, together with thirty-seven (37) copies.
The license change requested would modify the testing frequency specified in LACBWR Technical Specifications Sections 5.2.1.2(d) and
- 5. 2.1. 3 (d) for Type B and C leakage rate testing.
Granting of the requested change would result in greater correlation between LACBWR Technical Specifications and 10CFR50, Appendix J.
Appendix J requires the testing frequency of Type B tests, except for airlocks, "be per-formed during reactor shutdown for refueling or other convenient intervals, but in no case at intervals greater than 2 years", and the Type C tests "shall be performed during each reactor shutdown tor refueling but in no case at intervals greater than 2 years".

It is our desire to comply in these aspects with the requirements of 10CFR50, Appendix J, as much as praticable, and therefore this submittal requests the testing frequency for Type B and C tests be changed from the present wording to the frequency specified in Appendix J, Sections III.D.2(a) and III.D.3.
Prompt action on this request will be greatly appreciated.
