Energy Supply P. O. Box 551 Little Rock, Arkansas-72203 Gentlemen:
l In November 1981, the NRC announced a program for the transfer of selected functions and responsibilities from the various headquarters' offices to the regional offices.
One of the functions to be regionalized is the program for the review and issuance of license amendments and changes to Technical Specifications for nuclear power reactor facilities.
The Fort St. Vrain facility was selected as the first nuclear power reactor facility for which licensing activities were transferred to the i
regional office.
The transfer of the Fort St. Vrain licensing activities to Region IV was effected on December 1, 1982.
The enclosed Federal Register notice has been issued to amend 10 CFR 50.4 to implement the change.
The NRC "Regionalization Program" calls for the transfer of licensing activities for six additional Region IV licensees to Region IV in Fiscal Year 1985 (begin-ning October 1, 1984). As that time approaches, we will advise you of the facilitics selected for the transfer.
It is noted that the reactor operator licensing function will also be transferred to Region IV in Fiscal Year 1984.
If you have any question regarding the NRC Regionalization Program, we would be pleased to afscuss them with you.
Sincerely, mened b3 a
