The Commission was briefed by James Keppler, Regional Administrator for Region III, on the status of quality assurance problems encountered at the Midland Nuclear Power Station, a two unit facility under construction at Midland, Michigan.
Commissioner Gilinsky requested information on whether the most recent (April 1982) significant quality assurance deficiencies identifed at Midland involved construction work completed before or after the August 1980 formation of the Midland Quality Assurance Department.
