On August 21, 1981, your office was informed that the 2Al reactor coolant pump electrical penetration was discovered depressurized and could not be repressurized with SF6 gas. This constitutes a potential degradation in containment integrity. Reportable Occurrence Report R0-270/81-14, providing details of this incident was to have been submitted to you by September 4, 1981, pursuant to Technical Specification 6.6.2.1.a(3). However, the in-vestigation of this incident and the preparation of a report are incomplete at this time. It is expected that the investigation and report will be completed, reviewed, and submitted to you no later than September 18, 1981.
