I Thank you for your letter dated November 22, 1989, in response to our b
0ctober 23. 1989 letter concerning allegations pertaining to security activities at the Byron Generating Station (Allegation RIII-89-A-0119).
In-our letter we requested that you conduct an investigation of an allegation pertaining to a potential unsafe firearm issued to a security officer and submit the results of your investigation to the NRC.
.Your response indicated that-the firearm was determined to be safe.
LAdditionally, the frequency of cleaning weapons was going to be changed from quarterly-(three months) to monthly. We found your investigation to j
ibe sufficient to support your conclusions and have no additional questions.
