. DISCUSSION Following discussions with members of the Health Physics Appraisal it was resolved that the Manager RadiologicalControls and his Deputy would be shown as two distinct boxes on the organization chart.

To further clarify the role and interrelationship of the Manager Radiological Controls and the Deputy Manager RadiologicalControls, the following information is provided:

The Manager, Radiological Controls reports to the Vice President Radiologicaland Environmental Controls, CPU Nuclear Corporation.

He is assigned the overall responsibility for implementing the Radiation Protection Plan for TMI-l and for monitoring and en-forcing the implementation of its policies and procedures through-out the TMI operation, maintenance, and restart effort. In the execution of this responsibility he directs the Radiological Controls Department staff, shown in the organization chart (Figure 6-2). He is also responsible for certifying course content, instructor qualification and examination associated with radiological training of others outside the Radiological Controls Department. He inter-faces with the Vice President, TMI-1, other TMI-l department Directors and Managers,the Radiological Controls Director, TMI-2 and the Director, TMI-2 Site Operations in regard to procedures and policy decisions affecting the Radiological Controls Department.

Deputy Manager Radiological Controls is the Deputy to the Manager Radiological Controls, and, in his absence, acts for him with the same responsibility and authority. Tht: Deputy Manager is accountable for assisting the Manager in fulfillina Manager's principal account-abilities. To this end, the Deputy Manager shall maintain awarenesa of the status of activities within the Radiological Controls Depart-ment to support tne Manager in assuring the adequacy of the Radiation Protection Program including the program implementation and its com-pliance with applicable requirements. Jhen a Deputy Manager is assigned the Radiological Engineering Manager and the Radiological Field Operations Manager will report to the Deputy Manager routinely but also will have direct access to the Manager Radiological Controls-TMI-1.
