On September 25, 1980, Mr. S. J. Brewer of Public Service Company of Indiana, Inc. (PSI) notified your office of a potentially reportable item as required by 10 CFR 50.55 (e) . During maintenance of storage conditions on cable tray hangers, deficiencies were identified in a namber of their welds. A nonconformance report was issued by the contractor who identified the deficiencies and this was submitted to PSI for evaluation and disposition.
PSI performed an evaluation of thosa deficiencies which included reinspection of the cable tray hangers in question. Subsequent to the preliminary telephone notification, additional weld deficiencies were identified and these required additional evaluation. This additional evaluation is ongoing presently and will r? quire more time to complete. PSI anticipates the results of this eveluation and a description of any required corrective action will be provided in a final report on or before March 1,1981.
