On April 16, 1996, via letter LR-N96092, Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G) provided Salem Generating Station's response to Generic Letter 96-01. In that letter, PSE&G committed to perform specific reviews of Salem systems required by Generic Letter 96-01 and to modify station procedures as necessary to ensure compliance with Technical Specification requirements. The Generic Letter also requires that written confirmation be provided to the NRC concerning the completion of these actions.

The purpose of this letter is to notify the NRC that the Generic Letter 96-01 actions, described in PSE&G's April 16th letter, have been completed at Salem Units 1 and 2, as part of the Technical Specifications Surveillance Improvement Program (TSSIP).

Procedural changes and surveillances have been accomplished where equipment operability was a concern. The need for other actions including potential procedural revisions where operability was not a concern, have been documented for action within the Corrective Actions Program.
