Dear Dr. Uhrig:

On October 31, 1980 plant layout information regarding the Turkey "Point Plant Unit No.

3 and St. Lucie Plant Unit No.

1 was requested for ush in our review of the containment sump performance.

Specific details were included in a su)sequent letter dated July 6, 1981 from E. J.

Gahan (Burt1!s and Roe) to D. Chancy, FPL (copy enclosed).

Also enclosed is a Rable showing the status of the latter request.

As.we indicated this information is for use in our resolution of. theuunresolved safety issue, A43 Containm ht-Emergency Sump Performance.

Please provide the information requested in the enclosures to this letter.

If any of the. information has already been submitted and is on the docket for some other issue it would be sufficient if it would be identified. If you cannot provide the information within 45 days please provide the schedule on which it can be provided..

4 is the key information needed to estimate insulation displacement (or break up) for debris studies, and is also needed to utilize tabulations received for items 86 5 87, which identify insu'lation locations by zones.

    • Itis also our understanding that unibestos is replacing asbestos insulation currently utilized in the Turkey Point Units.

We need data on the locations 5 amounts of such insulation and also need to know if the unibestos insulation should be considered representative of the Turkey Point Units for A-43 studies.
