This is to confirm our telephone report to your Mr. John Riceland, Staff Duty Officer Washington Office, on December 24, 1979, at 1650 hours0.0191 days <br />0.458 hours <br />0.00273 weeks <br />6.27825e-4 months <br />.

At that time we reported that word was received from our New York Office relative to IE Bulletin 79-14 that indicated that under the condition of the design basis earthquake, the duct work on both trains of the Contain-'ent-Air Recirculation System would be stressed beyond yield.

Immediate action was taken by the writer to bring the Unit to Cold Shutdown.

A followup report will be submitted by January 7,

1980, as required by Technical Specification Section 6.9.1.8.
